辰星中文夏令营

1. Program Introduction/项目简介

    

School is out, vacation is here and our fun doesn't stop at Mandarin Summer Camp!

Students tend to forget a lot of material they learned from school due to the lack of exposure and practice during the 3-month long summer break. This kind of phenomenon can be seen more commonly in learning Mandarin. Moreover, Summer is also the best time for children and teenagers to explore new things and learn new skills that could potentially inspire them to explore the “unknown side” of themselves.

2. Program Objectives/项目宗旨

 

–To provide fun, communal and corporate atmosphere for Mandarin Immersion.

 

–To offer the lessons and resources needed for a smooth transition from Summer break back to Mandarin classes in school year.

 

–To promote more inspiring and entertaining events and activities for cultural exploration.

 

–To introduce a gateway to learning Mandarin in a more engaging way for students who have never had exposure to Mandarin before.

3. Program Layout/项目设计

    

Our summer camp is offered for students in Grades TK-8  and is composed of 3 sessions, and each lasting 2 weeks, making the total length of the program 6 weeks long from June 10 July 19.

 

Each day is composed of two parts, Morning Cultural & Historical Exploration and Afternoon Culture Enrichment Activities. A specific theme will be assigned to each session, and the weekly course curriculum, enrichment activities and field trips will be particularly designed for that theme.

The previous location (West Portal and Lawton) will be closed due to construction.


5. Program Schedule/项目时间表

    

    

Session 1: June 10 ~ Jun 21   The Little Gardener （小小园艺家）

  • The SFUSD public schools (including APGiannini) will be closed on June 19 (Wednesday) in observance of Juneteenth. So our Mandarin summer camp is also closed.

  • SFUSD公立学校将在6月19日（星期三）放假以庆祝六月节，中文夏令营也停课一天。

Hey kids! Ready to dive into the plant world? Whether you're a newbie gardener or a plant pro, our summer camp is where it's at! Learn to plant seeds, watch 'em grow, and even chat with plants! Let's make this summer green-tastic together! 🌱🌻🌿

Session 2: June 24 ~ July 03  The Little Gourmets（小小美食家）

  • Summer Camp is closed on July 4th, Thursday and July 5th Friday due to school closure.

  • 7月4日和7月5日公校关闭，夏令营不开放。

Hey kids! Are you ready to become little chefs? Welcome to "The Little Gourmets" summer camp! Get ready for yummy adventures every day! We'll make delicious snacks, cook tasty meals, and learn cool kitchen secrets. Put on your chef hats and let's have a cooking blast together! 🍽️👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Session 3: July 08 ~ July 19   The Little Performer （小小表演家）​

Hey kids! Are you ready to be the shining stars of the stage?  Let's enjoy super fun practices, exciting shows, and tons of cheers! Whether you love acting, dancing, or singing, this camp is where all the magic happens! Let's sparkle and shine together in the spotlight! 🌟🎭🎤

7. Optional Art Class every day/每日画画课 3:00 ~ 5:00pm
